88 / 100 Perhaps because of the vintage, this wine was slightly out of kilter with the others submitted by Caraguilhes. A savoury nose seemed to carry a hint of something unpleasant, while the palate was at first full of bilberry and cassis fruit, but soon gave way to a rather hollow mid-palate, and an impression of high alcohol on the finish. The Syrah-led hints of saffron and white pepper were not sufficient to redeem that first impression.
