Font Blanche
90 / 100 A pale, gold, unoaked colour. Restrained on the nose at first, as the wine warms up in the mouth, delicate hints of nashi pear, wild fennel and fresh apricots appear. Very dry on the palate, where more garrigue aromas such as fennel and liquorice appear, along with dried apples and even a hint of custard. Neither very long nor complex, this is nevertheless a very well-judged wine that defies the very hot, dry conditions of the Corbières. A lovely, palate-cleansing aperitif, this wine would also go well with many a fish or seafood dish, or any salad based on fennel.
