95 / 100 An intense, dark purple, this wine belied its youth to reveal an exuberant nose that led us to drop many an adjective – sweet, dark fruit; violets; mulberries; garrigue notes that leaned towards dried mint and black olives….The palate is big and dense, with loads of dark berry fruit, garrigue spices, and decent acidity, leading to a very warm, very long finish. The power of the Languedoc sun and the Boutenac vineyards are counter-set by the elegance that the Caraguilhes team manages to bestow on pretty much all of their wines. Chapeau.
